Is the refillable floss package plastic?
The additional refill floss is eco friendly, it’s packaged in polylactide acid bags which are created from the lactic acid in plants. These refill floss bags are certified compostable.
Why choose Dental Lace?
It’s estimated that if you were to floss every day, each week of the year, the total floss used by one person would approximately 167 meters of floss. That’s a lot of floss headed to landfill for just one person.
Both the packaging of your standard store bought dental floss and the floss itself is not eco friendly, as the majority of the material used to produce the floss is plastic. Even if the plastic container is added to your recycling bin, it’s too small to be processed, and will eventually end up in landfill. Standard dental floss is made of a nylon fibre, which cannot be recycled and unlike eco friendly Silk Dental Lace, regular floss is not compostable.
Stop single use plastic at the source, opt for a plastic free floss, eco dental floss that’s biodegradable and compostable.
Is Dental Lace Vegan?
Dental Lace’s vegan floss, is made from bamboo charcoal and PET. We do not stock the vegan version of this floss. If you’re seeking a vegan plastic free dental floss EORTH stock Flosspot Gold Vegan Plastic Free Dental Floss packaged in a small metal container.
How do you use Dental Lace?
To get the best results from your Dental Lace, cut the desired amount of silk plastic free floss from the metal container (we recommend 30-45 cm). Wind the floss around each of your middle fingers, leaving a few centimetres of floss in the centre.
Hold your Dental Lace quite tight between your thumb and index fingers and slide it gently up and down between your teeth. It’s not recommended to force the silk floss as it may cut your gum tissue.
After cleaning the area, gently remove the floss using the same back and forth motion used to clean the area.
Each time you move to a new tooth/gum area to clean, use a new section of Dental Lace from the initial cut of floss. Which comes first: the brushing or the flossing? Experts say whichever order you prefer is the best way to care for your teeth. Just be sure to do both! Because Dental Lace is a plastic free floss, it’s safe to add to your compost after use.
